چکیده

We deal with the problem of recovering a memory kernel k(t, η), depending on time t and on a spatial variable η, in a parabolic integro-differential equation related to a bounded domain Ω ⊂ R. We show that, under suitable assumptions and two pieces of additional information, our identification problem can be uniquely solved locally in time.

Abstract A non-iterative approach based on adjoint formulation of conduction heat transfer is proposed to identify the thermal boundary conditions from a transient temperature history measured in a solid body. Using a numerical solution of the adjoint problem, which can be regarded as a numerical Green’s function, the temperature at the measuring point can be evaluated under arbitrary thermal b...

Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Inverse Problems in Engineering: Theory and Practice, Cambridge, UK, 11-15th July 2005 THE MODAL IDENTIFICATION METHOD COUPLED WITH THE ADJOINT METHOD FOR REDUCED MODEL IDENTIFICATION

We consider the resolution of an inverse problem for the identification of some reduced nonlinear diffusive models. The modal identification method is dealt with along with a gradient-type optimization method. Two distinct approaches are considered and compared. On one hand the classical finite differences approach and, on the other hand, the adjoint method for the computation of the objective ...

Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Inverse Problems in Engineering: Theory and Practice, Cambridge, UK, 11-15th July 2005 NONSTATIONARY BOUNDARY ESTIMATION IN ELECTRICAL IMPEDANCE TOMOGRAPHY BASED ON THE IMM SCHEME

In this paper, an effective nonstationary boundary estimation scheme in EIT is presented based on the interacting multiple model (IMM) algorithm. The inverse problem is treated as a stochastic nonlinear state estimation problem with the time-varying boundary (state) being estimated on-line with the aid of the IMM algorithm. In the design of the IMM algorithm multiple models with different proce...
